About Arlene

“I started quilting in the late 70's by taking a Beginners Class, and I loved it. I still have that quilt, it's all hand quilted and it sits in a drawer waiting for it's binding. It was meant for my daughter, I think it will now go to my granddaughter.  Rabbits Haven is the name of my home were I had a gift shop that I ran with the help of my 3 sisters on Mayne Island. After 5 years of successful fun filled days I closed the shop to pursue my love of painting and quilting. My sisters were thrilled for that meant that they also could pursue their love of quilting, gardening, and cooking.

The start of my pattern company came out of the success of making a quilt from one of my original water colour paintings. People started asking for a pattern. After many request I made my first pattern.

I now have 41 quilting and embroidery patterns. These patterns have all come from my original drawings and water colour paintings. In my last few pattern designs I have been incorporating traditional blocks, which I love, with my original drawings.

I go to bed late at night and can hardly wait to get up again so I can start another quilt. I have hundreds of drawings waiting for me in a box and another hundred in my head, so it will never end. I'm a believer in that you can never have too many quilts on the go or too many drawers full of fabric, and I'm thrilled that so many people love my patterns.”
